Piñakamarikit
12" x 16" | Giclée Print | Limited Edition of 30
Piñakamarikit (Most Beautiful Pineapple) is a tribute to the quiet strength and beauty of the Filipina, rendered through motifs inspired by traditional piña embroidery. At its center is a faceless maiden in a delicately stitched baro’t saya, framed by a symbolic pineapple and surrounded by gamo-gamo (moths), drawn to her light and beauty.
The piece is subtly inspired by the life and storytelling of José Rizal, whose heroines embodied quiet resistance, grace, and moral clarity. Like them, the maiden radiates a beauty rooted in goodness, heritage, and dignity.
Piñakamarikit reimagines embroidery as a narrative form, where cloth becomes memory, and piña becomes a symbol of Filipino identity and enduring elegance.
